Linda Mannheim

I’m the author of three books of fiction, most recently This Way to Departures, stories about people who have relocated – both voluntarily and involuntarily (out from Influx Press in October 2019). Eimear McBride said that my stories “provoke and abide like a slap.”

My fiction and non-fiction has appeared in 3:AM Magazine, Ambit, Catapult Story, Litro, and Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine. My audio stories have appeared on BBC Witness and on KCRW Berlin. I’m also the co-host of Why Why Why: The Books Podcast.

I am from a refugee family (both of my parents were refugees), but am not a refugee myself. I’m originally from New York and relocated to London 15 years ago. I also spend a lot of time in Berlin.
